Since 1738 gaming laws have been in place for North Carolina, followed by the North Carolina Geological Survey in 1823, and in 1915 the state park system was formed. Now the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources or DENR is the lead stewardship agency for preservation/protection of NC’s natural resources. Brian Rosa handles the organic recycling aspect of DENR. www.ncdenr.gov
